A lot has happened at EQI over the last four years - too much to fit in one paper! So much to reflect on, learn from and, importantly, celebrate.

This report is an overview of the challenging, incredible, transformative, exciting, and impactful projects we’ve been part of as we’ve worked towards our purpose to advance gender equality and end violence against women and girls.
Some of these included launching our website and Five-Year Organisational Vision and Strategic Plan, working with the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector (Victoria) and with partners to evaluate two primary prevention projects in the Northern Territory, heading to Mparntwe (Alice Springs) for a very special retreat, launching our new offering, Equality at Work, and releasing our first e-learning course – Gender Equality Foundations.
WHO
We stand on the shoulders of feminist activists who have been driving positive change for decades, and we exist as part of an ecosystem of organisations, individuals and collectives working to advance gender equality and end VAWG. We’d love to take a moment to say a little thank you...
Thank you to our wonderful team members, including our incredible consultants, for their dedication to each other, this work, and the collective impact we can have together. Thank you to our partners, clients, and funders, for your continued and appreciated support throughout these years. And thank you to our community, you, for inspiring us, believing in us, and walking alongside us, as we do this work.
WHY
Revolution is not a one-time event. – Audre Lorde
Activism is a verb, and a reminder that there is power in the collective. It can be easy when doing the work to forget to take a step back, reflect on progress made, practise gratitude and celebrate achievements. This is our way of doing exactly that.
While these years brought unforeseen changes, we prioritised strengthening the foundations of EQI, supporting the team, and building an impactful, feminist organisation.
As our Founder, Dr Emma Fulu says, this sector is notorious for burnout. So, allow us to take a moment to look back, and please join us, in collectively building our vision of a world in which diversity is celebrated, all people are respected and power and resources are shared.
HOW
We work across four interconnected strategies, supported by our organisational strengthening and staff wellbeing focus, to holistically achieve our mission. This report highlights just some of the amazing work we’ve been honoured and privileged to lead and support within these areas of focus. We’d love you to take a look and let us know what you think!
